Orbs (what ACS uses on various reports) - Information Special

David Dukelow

What is an orb? An orb is how far off from exact you will let an angle be and still call it by this or that name. For example, a square is a 90 degree angle, but in different circumstances you can still call any angle from 85 to 95 degrees a square, while in others you would keep to within 1 degree from exact. In the first instance you allow a 5 degree orb and in the second you have a 1 degree orb.
