The Bull, symbol of your zodiac sign of Taurus might be found in moods ranging anywhere from the calm munching of spring greens to the dynamic charge of Wall Streets “bull market” to the fierce charge of “El Toro’ toward the toreador. Most of the time you most likely show the calm and steady side of your Sun sign, just as pleasantly as this little bull from the Magical Child art series. He emphasizes that you most often have a calm and steadying influence on others, and you are a loyal friend. But if sufficiently motivated or riled, you can take charge—and may, indeed, CHARGE, in no uncertain terms!

Your sign is of the earth element, and you might be described as “down-to-earth,” known for your practical and sensible approach. Your natural house is the 2nd; the house of what is one’s own, including money and possessions. Likely you are good at handling money, preserving it and figuring out how to make more of it, and you enjoy the comforts and pleasure that you can have as a result.

In quality or mode of action, Taurus is fixed. Perhaps the most naturally patient of the signs, you are likely thought of by others as dependable, stable and reliable. You may take longer than some to finish a project, but you will finish what you start and do it well. Sometimes you may seem to be stuck in a rut—one that’s obviously comfortable to you or you wouldn’t be in it. As the fixed-earth sign of the zodiac, Taurus has often been called stubborn, and that you can be…though depending on the time and circumstances, your patient thoroughness may be necessary virtue.

Earthy people like you also tend to be quite tactile and sensual. You love to give and receive warm hugs. You savor the tastes of good food and the touch and feel of fine things, such as fabric, textures. You may also love Mother Earth, herself, enjoying outdoor activities that involve being out in the natural word. Likely you enjoy the feel of soil on your hands as you plant seedlings, and you love to watch those seedlings grow. With Venus your planetary ruler, you may be drawn to the arts, and if so, the tactile arts such as sculpture, ceramics or weaving may especially attract you.

The following cycles are based on your sun sign and represent general trends over the next year. Jupiter is in Cancer on your 2014 birthday. This is your solar House 3. Jupiter in the 3rd house is a great time for growth in your communication abilities. Speaking and writing can flow more easily. Be alert for opportunities to broaden your horizons and improve your skills. This is a time when you can grow in versatility and sell your ideas more effectively. Your relationships with neighbors, relatives and siblings may also improve, and you may benefit though increased interaction with them.

Jupiter is moving in a square relationship with Uranus in the earlier part of your solar year, strongest in March through May. One basic interpretation of that combination can be “sudden luck” or a surprise, or maybe a sudden inspiration. You may be feeling restless, and feeling the need for greater freedom, but don’t let that get in the way of your ability to see a true opportunity that may present itself. Patience is just not your strong suit now. Find a way to expresss your freedom needs without causing a problem that you didn’t want. Another possibiltiy is that someone needs more freedom from you, so be sensitive to that—but also recognize that this could be a projection of freedom needs of your own that you are suppressing. Be open to new ideas and alert to ways that you can express your own individuality and become free of unnecessarily limiting conditions

Saturn is in Scorpio, your solar house 7, the house of your “significant other.” This house is about your close one to one relationships, and of course, includes your spouse, if you are married. If you are not married, the 7th is about your close one-to-one relationships. In some cases there could be more than one relationship that can be read from Hosue 7—a business partner, for example. In any case, Saturn always calls for responsibility in the area of life where he is transiting. While this transit (especially in challenging aspect to personal planets in your chart), could be experienced as stress, or even separation, it can also represent commitment—the time that you “make it legal,” or formalize a business partnership.

The lesson of Saturn in House 7 is to handle each of your close one-to-one relationships fairly, harmoniously and in balance with the individual needs of both you and the other person involved. If there are conflicts, work on compromise. Be fair. Define your needs and wants with each other, come to agreement and honor it!

The Saturn transit is retrograding at 21° down to 19° for Taurus 2014 birthdays, so will be most strongly felt by those of you whose birthdays are in the second week of May. Saturn continues to retrograde until July 20, when it turns direct in the 16th degree, then continues to advance and passes into Sagittarius at Christmas 2014. Sagittarius is your solar House 8, the matters of which feature all that you share with a partner. So, doing something extra special for your partner during the holidays is always a good thing, but now maybe even better! Saturn advances to 4° Sagittarius by March 14, then retrogrades, ending the solar year for Taureans at just a few minutes less than 2° Sagittarius.

Uranus and will retrograde July 22 at 16 Aries. In December Uranus turns direct at 8 degrees and will then advance to 17 or 18 by the time of your next birthday. So, direct transit to your Sun is strongest if your birthday is in late April or early May. Uranus represents things that are sudden, new and different, innovative, sometimes rebellious. Uranus transits can be upsetting, especially for those resistant to change—which tends to be one of the traits of your Taurus Sun, so be prepared. Expect the unexpected and prepare to be flexible. There is a major square going on between transiting Uranus and transiting Pluto that we can relate to world events as well as perhaps to changes in our own lives if this square makes signficant aspects to our charts. Uranus and Pluto make 7 exact squares from June of 2012 to March of 2015. This year the exact square is at 11 degrees of Aries-Capricorn on May 21. This may not be of any special signficance to you, unless you have personal planets or the Ascendant or Midheaven in your chart in cardinal signs close to that 11th degree

Uranus in your solar 12th could represent a time when you confront secret areas of your unconcious and become clear with yourself about changes that you’d really like to make, but may have felt you just could not. If you are fully honest with yourself, you may discover that an initially unexpected and unwelcome change was really like a tap on your head from the Universe to think things through. Contemplate how what has happened may relate to your own inner process, and then learn from it. Maybe you really needed this change, but just were not courageous enough to initiate it on your own. Change can be unsettling, especially for a Taurus whose Sun sign traits include resistant to change, but flow with it, and you may ultimately find that what was initially upsetting was, in truth, a window to a new sense of freedom. Uranus in House 12 can also be a time of inspiration toward the mystical or spiritual realms. Your discovery of a new approach to beauty, healing or the intuitive may inspire and enrich your life.

Neptunes still in early Pisces and will be for years to come. This year it begins at 7°, advances to 7-1/2° by June 9th, then retrogrades down to the 4th degree by mid-November, then turns direct and ends up your solar year at 9° of Pisces for all Taurus birthdays. Pisces is a cooperating relationship with Taurus, so during Neptune’s long passage through this sign your ideals are stimulated, and you may be drawn to compassionate concern for others. Or you’ll become more involved with artistic activities or with intuitive, spiritual, mystical realms, or a combination of all these things.

With Neptune still in your solar House 11, your ideals may be developed, inspired or changed though your interactions with friends and with the groups that you belong to. Your sense of compassion and wanting to help others increases—but if your friends or group associations take advantage of you or seem out of sync with your values, that can be disillusioning. During this long transit of Neptune in Pisces, you may become active in a cause, and that can provide opportunities for growth, and possibly a stronger definition of your own truths in life.

Pluto is moving retrograde at 13 Capricorn for all Taurus birthdays in 2014, and does not turn direct until September 23 at 10* 59’ of Capricorn. Pluto then advances slowly to 15° until just a few days prior to when Taurus birthdays begin in 2015. So, ts yet another year of Pluto in Capricorn, closest in aspect to those Taurus Sun people whose birthdays are between April 29-May 4. Pluto in Capricorn, an earth sign, forms a cooperative relationship to earthy Taurus, so as a transit to your Sun the developments and changes associated with Pluto, or the Uranus-Pluto square could be positive, especially if with awareness, you direct them positively.

Capricorn is your solar House 9, and in this house, Pluto’s theme is, in some sense, transformative in matters of faith, ideals, religion, philosophy, ethics, law or education. This is a good transit for being open, and pro-active about learning all you can. In the process you may discover a clearer sense of your own personal truth in life. Since Pluto forms a soft aspect to your Sun, if we take that factor alone, the transformative theme of this very slow-moving planet may not seem all that dramatic—although if you have other factors in your chart close to the Uranus-Pluto square at 11° in late May, change may be quite signficant. With awareness your ability to direct change is greatly increased. If there are any major changes that you think you ought to be making, this is the to take the lead in doing so.
