A KITE IN THE NIGHT

Thomas Canfield

The August Solar Eclipse chart showed a Kite formation. This Kite reappears in the Autumn Equinox chart. The Sun at zero Libra is trine Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini. The Equinox Sun will oppose Neptune in Aries. Neptune will sextile both Pluto and Uranus, forming the wings of the Kite. The return of the Kite aspect may complete events from August 12 and bring results from the previous Kite’s revelations.

There are indications of further financial problems. Venus in Scorpio is squaring Pluto in Aquarius. Pluto is in an out-of-sign square with Chiron at 29 Aries. The Moon in Aquarius is opposing Jupiter in Leo. However, Jupiter is sextile Mercury, and the Moon is trine Mercury. There may be some bits of good news amidst the economic problems.  Mercury, Saturn, and Pallas square the Midheaven, and unconventional behind-the-scenes methods may be necessary, with Twelfth House Saturn and Pallas sextile the Moon and trine Jupiter, to help the economy.

Regarding war news, new controversies and political upheaval may lie ahead. Mars in Cancer is in opposition to Juno in Capricorn. I regard Juno as the asteroid of politics, since one goal of traditional marriage was to gain political power. With the Mars-Juno opposition, there may be debates on who is actually running the war. Mars in Cancer may be weakened, making it unclear who is in charge. Juno in the Tenth House may be concerned with logistics and which war contracts are producing the needed weapons. Juno and Mars are in a wide square to Mercury in Libra, and there might be a lot of finger-pointing as the blame game is played.

Eris, the dwarf planet of discord, is on the Ascendant and conjunct Vesta, the asteroid of hearth and home. Family values may reach a new level of discord, with Eris and Vesta squaring Mars and Juno. Service families may raise a rebellion against how the troops are being treated. Take note of the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln that has been in the Persian Gulf since the beginning of the year, with no crew rotation and decreasing supplies. Once military families get aroused, political leaders may find their heads on the chopping block. Going into the Midterm election, this could be  a major issue.

Eris squares and oppositions usually indicate minor discord. Most of the upheaval may be talk with no action. One area that may see significant discord could be values. Eris and Vesta are sextile the North Node, and trine the South Node. With more information about the Epstein files coming out, what we call family values may be in for a dramatic turn of events. There was a time when families did not discuss issues such as pedophilia. There were some family warnings about a certain uncle who might be too “touchy-feely”. It was not until the 1990’s that the pedophile scandal broke in the Catholic church. Still, families were reluctant to discuss the matter. Once it is revealed how Epstein was recruiting his young women, families may have to have a detailed and explicit talk about abuse and human trafficking. This may go way beyond the birds and the bees into the realm of vultures and hornets. With a President who drops F-bombs more than a dog drops poop, standards of decency may be up for debate.

Ceres in Cancer is opposing the Midheaven and squaring Mercury, Saturn, and Pallas. This may be a parallel debate that power-brokers may fear. It may go to the heart of family protection. Ceres in Cancer would stand for the overprotective mother. Opposing the Midheaven, Ceres may lead to questioning the success issues that enabled Epstein to recruit young girls through beauty contests or modeling assignments. Are beauty products for personal benefit, or are they for the benefit of the groomers and those who set the standards for beauty?  Intelligent or critical thinking women need not apply. Ceres and the Midheaven squaring Mercury may lead to questions about what women are being taught regarding their bodies and how they are to present themselves to the world. With the square to Pallas and Saturn, there may be a lot of questioning of traditional fashion thinking.  Are high heel shoes any better than foot-binding? Is a business jacket as constricting as a burka?  It may be time for a fashion revolution in women’s clothing to be more utilitarian and less provoking.

With Mercury in Libra in the Sixth House, health issues may be an important topic of discussion. Mercury is in opposition to Saturn, Pallas, and Vesta in the Twelfth House. Complaints about vaccines have raised questions about the validity of the complainers. The latest attack on Dr. Fauci has shown how incompetent the attackers were when arguing about medical matters. Outbreaks of some diseases could lead to a new pandemic unless handled carefully. Mercury opposing the Twelfth House bodies may reveal what is being covered up or withheld from the public. If may take manipulations behind the scenes in the Twelfth House to solve some of the problems. It may be a time of reorganization and new rules of order for businesses and healthcare.
