On May 17, Mercury will enter Gemini and conjunct Uranus on the same day. However, those looking for sensational news may have to be studying between the lines. On the morning of the Mercury ingress, there will be a stellium in the Twelfth House, running from Mars in Aries to the Moon Rising in Gemini. Taurus will be intercepted in the Twelfth House. It may be a time of shifting power in institutions, with major discussions happening behind the scenes. The news may not make headlines, but it might set up events that will be talked about later on.
Uranus moving into Gemini marks a seven-year cycle in which the repressions and restrictions of the past seven years will be fought against and overthrown. Uranus in Taurus has marked historical times when freedom was suppressed by events such as the Salem Witch Trials, the Tea tax, the Dred Scott decision, the rise of fascism, and the Trump administration (including the Covid restrictions.) Uranus in Gemini marked periods of release and rebellion, such as the release of Salem victims, the American Revolution, the Civil War and the end of slavery, World War II, and the ever-growing “No Kings” movement.
Mercury’s conjunction with Uranus could expose some of the motivations behind the previous repression. In the theory of octaves, Uranus is considered a higher octave of Mercury. If Mercury rules basic communication like speaking or writing, Uranus rules electronic communication such as radio, television, and the internet. If Uranus stood for technology that brainwashes people, Mercury could be the common sense that makes people realize they have been brainwashed. Making people face the facts could purge a steady emotional diet of fear-mongering.
Joining Mercury and Uranus are the Moon and Ascendant at the entrance to Gemini. Are revelations coming out about women and how the administration is treating them? Why are the only women appointed designated as “eye candy”? What happens to mentally competent women who do not meet the physical standards? Why have women officers been denied promotions in the military? Is there a conspiracy to keep competent women out of government?
The Moon in Gemini with Mercury, Uranus, and the Ascendant may raise the questions, but the power behind those questions may be found with Pluto in Aquarius, trine the bodies in early Gemini. Pluto represents the real power of change, and in this chart it is in the Ninth House, which governs legal matters. The trine to Pluto could bring out more issues, such as new evidence from the Epstein files, or corroboration of the Epstein victims from different sources. There may be more revelations of sexual abuse, such as details about what had been happened in the Labor department. With Uranus involved in the trine, news could spread faster than lies can be created.
What emerges now could mark a shift in values. The North Node in Pisces is squaring the planets in Gemini. What might have been considered “ho-hum” and boring before may suddenly gain attention. With the North Node in the Tenth House, more questions may arise regarding business practices and any cover-ups. Are the current changes, such as tax cuts, being implemented for big business, or are they intended to maintain political power?
The North Node is midway between Pluto in Aquarius and Neptune in Aries. Neptune, having moved out of the foggy realms of Pisces, may be shedding light on the old illusions and tricks used to deceive the public. Neptune has been conjunct Saturn, and both have been sextile Pluto and semi-sextile the North Node. Gradually, the truth has been leaking out, and it smells worse than Corey Lewandowski after taking out Kristi Noem’s garbage. Those trying to maintain power may be undone by their own incompetence.
Mars in the Twelfth House sextiles Venus in Gemini and squares Jupiter in Cancer. It could be a time when the expenses of the Iranian “conflict” are exposed, showing how much the economy was afflicted by the “victory.” Mars might reveal how effective the women soldiers were in the war, bringing new respect for female recruitment. The Taurus Sun sextile Jupiter may offer some benefit to the economy. Mars, the Sun, Venus, and Jupiter are preparing to change signs. Once those changes take place, interruptions in economic patterns may cease. On May 20, Venus will move into Cancer just as Mars moves into Taurus. They will maintain their sextile, which may indicate balancing hopes between war and peace. On May 21, the Sun will move into Gemini, joining Mercury and Uranus. This could shed more light on the news cycle, and get people talking about major events. Jupiter will not be making its entry into Leo until the beginning of July, when it will oppose Pluto, trine Neptune, and sextile Uranus. More displays of monarchial power may stir up the public imagination and lead to revolutionary thoughts.
One area worth exploring with Mercury, Uranus, the Moon, and Ascendant conjunct in Gemini is the changing role regarding women maintaining the population. Data from 2023 shows that teenage pregnancy is declining, and women over forty are having more babies than teenagers. Women received the message from the Women’s Liberation movement fifty years ago that pursuing a career early in life can bring better security later. Rather than be forced to take low-paying jobs to support children, the women are pursuing career pay and setting it aside in case they decide to start a family. Women do not even need traditional matrimony, since later pregnancies are occurring through artificial insemination. Women do not have to worry about marrying men like Trump, Hegseth, and Kennedy, Jr., and the human race can continue without women feeling trapped in marriage. With the Gemini bodies squaring the North Node, a whole new series of rituals for fertilization, birth, and family commitment may need designing. Instead of celebrating anniversaries and birthdays, a festival of existence, appreciation, and support might suffice. The great irony with the Gemini bodies sextile Neptune is that the liberated women are doing what religion wanted: holding off on sex and reproduction. However, religious groups may resent it if more older women have children without traditional husbands. Both Trump’s minions and the Iranian Ayatollahs may discover they have been excluded from the field of reproduction. They were so busy hating each other that they didn’t notice a modern production of “Lysistrata” being performed right under their noses. While Neptune rules mysticism, it also rules deception. Having sextiles with Mercury, Uranus, the Moon, and the Ascendant could mark one of the best deceptions in history.
